Description
A women’s straw hat, with a turned up brim and a rounded crown. There are three ribbons, red, white and blue, sewn down making a hatband. They are secured by a machine-made applique of two red cherries with green leaves. The inside of the hat has a white grosgrain ribbon stitched on as a sweatband, with corresponding red, white and blue thread to secure the ribbons sewn on as the hatband on the other side. There is a red and white fabric label sewn onto the sweatband and in black lettering on the white part, “CANADIAN HAT MONTREAL CANADA”.

Commemorative tin box celebrating the Silver Jubilee for King George V and Queen Mary. The box is predominantly blue with small gold fleur-de-lis throughout, a gold shield with a decorative “GvM” on it with lions on either side and a rose above [possibly the manufacturer’s logo] on the front and back, four shields with the Scottish cross on it below either a thistle or a clover on the short sides, and portraits of the King and Queen with the Royal flag and silver label on the lid. The lid is hinged along the back and is empty.
