- Two identical square box-like stands of black lacquered wood covered with gold vine and leaf pattern. Recessed platform of red lacquer at top, outward bowed legs at each corner attached to square frame at base forming shaped cut-out windows on each side. Floral motif at centre of each side of platform with three long leaves spiralling to form round medallion. Top edges trimmed in gold.

- Eight small souvenir paper fans with thin bamboo handles. Red is most dominant colour on all fans. Fans (a-f) are palmate in shape while (g-i) are smaller and circular. All five have a little mirror placed upper left center, and a blue and yellow fan motif at the base where handle meets paper. (a) image of Japanese woman, bottom left, in 3/4 profile facing right, Japanese male, upper right, faces woman. Small mirror makes up one side of a suspended box. Both figures have bright red lips. (b) Male figure bottom left, looks upwards towards figure of Japanese woman, upper left. Mirror in shape of full moon in background is partially hidden by midground post bearing Japanese calligraphy. (c) Two Japanese males in 3/4 profile facing each other, dressed in official looking clothing. Both are mustached. Mirror appears as one side of street lantern in background. (d) Image of Japanese woman, upper right, looking left toward male who wields a fan in his right hand, the mirror is a part of fan. - Description
- Two light weight wood stacking chests with two drawers each. Chests are fastened together by a rectangular metal latch (23 x 8) on each side which slides up to hook onto two metal prongs placed at the bottom of the chest above. Each corner is reinforced by a metal covering. Oval shaped brown metal plates (12.5 cm. long with straight length-wise sides) decorate the bottom front of each chest. Each drawer has a lock placed in the center of a 10.5 cm. brown metal disc with silver metal rim and center. Discs extend over upper top edge of drawers by about 3 cm., two shiny brown metal handles on each drawer. Each of the handles is fastened to inside of drawer by a wing-type (or butterfly) fastener rather than screws.
