The middle door exposes three heavy brass cylindrical balance weights and a large pendulum. There is a glass door at top that reveals the face in a heavy case with a pointed wooden roof and carved twisted columns at the corners and supporting a railing around the very top. Both doors have locks and keys. The clock has a round etched metal face with brass numerals and a brass plate in the middle with finely wrought black iron hands. There are dials to measure seconds and regulate the chime, and an arch over the face contains two hemispheres, and a painted ship and moon on a moving wheel beneath.
