Scope & Content: File pertains to 59 black and white photographs of the Monachello and his fellow campmates at the Alternative Service Corps work camp located near the Sunshine Road/Brewster Creek area (ASW Camp No. 1) from 1941-1943. Photos were taken by Placido Monachello, annotated, and sent to his [then] fiance Leona in Hamilton, Ontario. Photographs include group portraits [mostly outdoors], the cook tent and its staff, cutting lumber, Sunday activities, and interacting with wildlife.

Notes: Please note: approaching and feeding wildlife in Banff National Park is illegal, do not attempt.
