Description
A solid brass hatchet head with long narrow blade flaring to curved edge. Small round cast brass bowl, pipe? at other end of blade has small hole drilled through bottom. Handle is straight flattened piece of wood which was once painted green as evidenced by traces of green colour in grain. Handle passes through round opening in hatchet head and is tied on with a thong of buckskin. A strip of flannel material is tied at base of handle with one end hanging loose.

The sleeves are sinched with elastic wristbands at the bottom that then go into ruffles. Below the floral design are pleats that go down the front, and (b) a pair of pajama pants in the same colour as the top but with no design. The pants hace a wide leg and an elastic waistband. Measurements for b: 106.0 x 50.0cm. Tag attached to one of the sleeves states the set was bought from the Hudson’s Bay Company for $9.99. Tag inside reads “Chardin LTEE/LTD. MADE IN CANADA” Note: 103.05.0298 is the same pajama set in a different colour.
