Description
Spiral-bound sketchbook with red and white-patterned cardboard covers and a black fabric elastic band attached to the back cover for the purpose of holding the book closed. A white paper sticker is adhered to the front cover with “Spring Block, Drawing Paper, By T.S.” printed in black on it - “Peter Whyte” is written in pencil in the TLC. Contents include scene sketches from a 1934 trip to Japan by Peter and Catharine. Consists mostly of people sitting at tables presumably playing cards, Catharine reading the newspaper, figure studies, and a horse-drawn 2-wheel carriage.
