He is wearing a loin cloth and a full, long headdress, below that, an enamelled multi-coloured maple leaf crest is soldered onto the handle. Hotel” the Banff Springs Hotel and under that “BANFF”. (b) a gold-coloured silver souvenir spoon (10.0cmx2.5cm wide) with the B.C. provincial coat-of -arms emblem on the top of the handle: the wapiti on the left, the heraldic lion on top, the Bighorn sheep on the right, the shield, in white, blue and red enamel, in the middle with the motto underneath “SPLENDOR SINE OCCASU”. The bowl has “GLACIER HOUSE SELKIRK MOUNTAINS B.C.” and the hotel and mountains in relief. Engraved on the back of the spoon, all that is visible of the word Sterling, is “STERLI”.
