- Description
- A round, white plate with a border design (1.7cm wide) that incorporates a bold, art-deco style (Wheatsheaf pattern) of yellow wheat sheaves, maple leaves, and flowers in browns, greens, and yellow on a blue background. This border chain is broken to incorporate the printed “CANADIAN PACIFIC” in blue. The Minton logo is on the back, printed in black, a crown on top, “MINTONS” printed across a circular, segmented globe, a laurel leaf on either side, between the leaves “EST. 1793”, and below that “ENGLAND”. The words “MINTON CHINA” was impressed into the plate before the glaze was applied, but the word CHINA is barely visibible.

- Description
- Two sterling silver souvenir spoons:(a) a silver souvenir spoon (13.5 cm x 2.5 cm wide) with a frontal view of an Indigenous Chief on the handle, looking into the distance towards viewer’s right, with his hand above his eyes. He is wearing a loin cloth and a full, long headdress, below that, an enamelled multi-coloured maple leaf crest is soldered onto the handle. The back of the spoon shows the back of the man, same stance, although no crest, so his whole body is in view. On the back of the handle the word “CANADA” is printed in relief and below that, the silver mark “925” and two hallmarks. The bowl of the spoon has, printed in relief “C.P.R. Hotel” the Banff Springs Hotel and under that “BANFF”. (b) a gold-coloured silver souvenir spoon (10.0cmx2.5cm wide) with the B.C. provincial coat-of -arms emblem on the top of the handle: the wapiti on the left, the heraldic lion on top, the Bighorn sheep on the right, the shield, in white, blue and red enamel, in the middle with the motto underneath “SPLENDOR SINE OCCASU”. The bowl has “GLACIER HOUSE SELKIRK MOUNTAINS B.C.” and the hotel and mountains in relief. Engraved on the back of the spoon, all that is visible of the word Sterling, is “STERLI”.
