- A pair of skate blades with screws to bind a boot to the blade. Each skate has a long metal blade attached to a wooden base. The base has a screwed on (four screws) metal plate on the heel with another screw tip in the centre coming out to attach the boot and screws and three slits in the wood, toe, instep and heel for leather straps. On (a) there are two straps; instep, a brown strap and heel, an off-white strap. On (b) there is one brown strap, instep. The metal blades are marked “UNION HARDWARE CO. THE DONOGHUE RACING SKATE TORRINGTON, CONN.”
