- Square wooden base with a circle in the centre. The middle of the circle has a carved starburst. A circular metal piece rests in the circle (covering the starburst) with remnants of glue. There is a banner across the metal circle with “SUMMIT OF EXCELLENCE AWARD JON WHYTE - HISTORIAN presented at the Banff Festival of Mountain Films in recognition of a significant contribution to mountain life.” The year “1992” is below the banner.
