- A large sheet of heavy white paper folded in half like a card. There are 14 examples of overshot sample weaving, woven in several shades of blue, green, beige, and white fibre, behind black paper frames. The weaving samples and a sheet of of white paper with black printing “MANNERS OF WEAVING OVERSHOT” are attached with masking tape. The cover has cutouts for each sample weaving and a larger window cutout in the middle for the white paper. Black paper is attached au verso around the cutouts to make a black frame for each and attached with masking tape. Au verso there is a white sheet of paper attached with tape “LEGEND” and the type of weaving in each sample window starting at viewer’s left “FLAME, AS DRAWN IN, ITALIAN, LACE, TIE-UP STANDARD, TIE-UP TRIPLE, LACE, BLOCK A PATTERN, BLOCK B PATTERN, BLOCK C PATTERN, BLOCK D PATTERN, SPETSVAV, ROSE FASHION, SWIVEL”.

There is a piece of graph paper also attached with masking tape; it has a pattern for whig rose weaving in pencil and printed in black below that “MINIATURE WHIG ROSE WEAVING”. - An off-white card with an oval-shaped cutout window that displays a piece of red and white cotton weaving. The top three designs are woven with white thread and resemble chain loops; the four middle designs are woven with white thread into elongated diamond shapes; and the bottom three designs, done in white thread, are a repeat of the top three, and resemble chain loops. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the rectangular piece of woven fabric that appears as an oval shape on the front. There is a light grey ring (0.20cm) 0.50cm from the cutout area. When the card is opened, on viewer’s right, there is a calligraphic script greeting of “Merry Christmas”, and underneath it is signed in longhand, with a ball-point pen “Eileen and Bob Hett”. On the viewer’s left written in longhand with a ball-point pen: “Hello Mary, Our guild has had a traumatic few months. In July we were notified by the city that we had to vacate our home - because the roof was about to collapse. And the worse news was that, since the city archives wanted our space we couldn’t return once repairs were made. In this economy there is nothing large enough for us and our” it continues on the back of the card “equipment that we can afford. The result is that the study groups and classes are spread all over the city. We have recently found two possibilities - and everyone has their fingers crossed.”
