- A straight walking stick with an ivory knob handle joined to the wooden stick with a silver ring. The bottom tip of the cane is covered with brass. There are holes at either side of the top of the cane for a hand strap. The silver ring is inscribed with “Fort Dummer 1759 James W. Brown”.

The picture is framed with a very simple wood frame painted gold with two screw eyes and a wire at the back for hanging. The back of the picture is marked “--GE & CO. CHROMO --RIN. O.” in the blc, and “Entered according to A---& Sonoress (?) in the year 1874 by Strobridge & Co. in teh officeo fthe Librarian of Congress.” in the brc.

The gown opens down the length of the gown front, with a wide panel on either side, and snaps to fasten at the top creating a V-neck. The back of the gown is gathered between the shoulders with a square 'collar' at the yoke and a line of twisted cording down centre that buttons at the bottom of the yoke. The monogram “P.A.M.” is sewn on a label at the neck. There is also a manufacturer’s label at the neck.
