At the base of the mountain, a river or stream runs across the painting. A sloping flat area below the river is sand coloured on the left and dark blue-grey on the right. In the foreground at the bottom of the image, there is a rocky area. Patches of green vegetation are interspersed amongst the rock. The sky is blue with white clouds in it.
