A travel case made from some hard light-weight black material (possibly metal) with a hinged lid that closes with metal latches on either side of a latched lock. Metal brackets on all of the corners and reinforcing along all edges - wooden runners along the bottom of the case horizontally. There is a leather strap that clips into loops on the short sides of the box as well as a leather travel tag. On the lid is a white rectangular “Canadian Pacific” label that reads “Nicholas Morant, Special Photographer Canadian Pacific Ltd. care CP Transport” in typed text and “Banff Alta” written in black ink above a scratched out typed “Victoria, B.C.” Also on the lid is a piece of masking tape with “LEICA & FILM & ACCESSORIES” written in blue ink possibly by Nick Morant. The interior is lined with beige fabric and both the main body and the interior of the lid are divided into two equal compartments. In one of the body compartments are wooden slats that most likely sit on supports inside each part to create additional compartments at the bottom of the case, but they are not in place. The compartments in the lid are held closed with small pieces of leather that snap onto the front panels which hinge down on strips of brown fabric tape. Inside the case and lid compartments are a Leica camera and various accessories,

Black hard-sided leather case with a hinged lid that clasps shut with two metal clasps on either side of a metal hinge lock and metal corner braces. There are two metal bases attached to the lid where a handle may have been attached, handle missing. Faded leather strap is attached with metal clasps to rings mounted on both short sides of the case. There is a small square sticker, possibly a travel marker from Mexico, on the left-hand short side under the clasp. In the middle of the lid is a rectangular Canadian Pacific label that has “Film Case” written in black ink and a stamped “PROPERTY OF NICHOLAS MORANT BANFF, ALBERTA” in blue ink. Attached with a short piece of white string to the right-hand carry strap clasp is a paper Canadian Pacific tag that has something written in black ink that is badly damaged by water. A cataloguer tag is also attached to that clasp with “MORANT COLLECTION (film magazines)” written on it in black ink.The interior of the box is lined with a dark red fabric, possibly velvet and is divided into two compartments, the left one slightly larger than the right. The interior of the lid is also divided into two compartments that close off with snaps - small leather pull tabs allowed the compartments to be accessed. There are no manufacturer’s marks on the case. Found inside are three different film magazines.

Description
Model of the Santa Maria ship on a base - the Santa Maria was the largest of the three Spanish ships Christopher Columbus used on his first voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. The ship has three masts with cross-masts bearing their own individual sails, all of which are painted - the foremost one has the image of two monarchs in a red oval surrounded by yellow rays, the mid-ship sail has the image of a red cross with a banner above it bearing the name of the ship, and the aft one has an oval with alternating red and white stripes. The front and middle masts also have smaller flags at the tops - the flag for the aft mast has come off and is on the raised deck behind the mast. The main body of the ship is painted red and blue and a cannon is pointing out the side - a hole on the other side suggests there was a second one but is now missing. There is a red-painted wooden lantern at the back. The whole ship sits on a wooden support.
