- Herbert Alonzo "Soapy" Smith, 1878-1948, was a rancher, guide and outfitter at Jumping Pound, Banff, and Seebe, Alberta, Canada. Smith came to Canada in 1904 and worked on ranches in the Jumping Pound district. In 1906 he began working for Brewster Brothers as a cook and guided for them until ca.1920. During the winters, he raised and boarded horses, returning to Banff each outfitting season. In about 1923, Smith started a new ranch, the present day Rafter 6 near Seebe, from which he outfitted and guided. In later years, he frequently outfitted for the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies.

- The Stevens family was from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Four American families, the Boveys, Stevens, Crosbys and Bennetts, funded construction of a hunting lodge, the "Hawk's Nest," near Waterton, Alberta, Canada in 1924 and contracted the guiding services of Bert Riggall for many years. Riggall's successor, Andy Russell, continued to guide and outfit these visitors.

- Stuart Armour, b.1893, was a frequent summer visitor to the Banff area with his aunt and uncle, Hayter and Kate Reed, and cousin, Gordon. Over the years, he made numerous pack trips with Pat Brewster. Armour worked as a journalist and economic advisor in Hamilton, Ontario.

- History / Biographical
- The Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies is a trail riding organization based in Calgary, Alberta. The organization was established in 1923 with the support of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The first ride was held in 1924, and annual summer trail rides and pow-wows attracted fifteen hundred members by 1929. Many notable residents of the Bow Valley, including members of the Brewster and Moore families, Catherine Robb and Peter Whyte, and Carl Rungius have participated in trail rides. Support from the Canadian Pacific Railway ended in 1961. As of 2020, the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies remains an active organization.
