Description
A tea set consisting of a teapot (a), sugar bowl (c) and creamer (b). a) The teapot has a wide bottom with sides curving inward and then out again to a flat shoulder with the lid set in from the shoulder. The teapot has a slightly curved spout attached opposite to a loop handle that is attached at the shoulder and the base. The teapot is decorated with white on a deep blue background. There is a band of white acanthus leaves around the lid and wreaths of acanthus leaves where the handle and spout join the pot. The pot is decorated with a series of white relief standing figures in togas and trees.b) The creamer has a spherical shape with the lip and body distorted to form a pouring spout. The creamer is white inside and deep blue outside with white relief robed figures and trees around the outside.c) The sugar bowl has the same shape and decorative design as the teapot (a), except there is no spout and the bowl has two small loop handles.
