A decorative coat of arms with “Carnet, Croquis” is printed in black ink in the top left corner of the front cover and a “Made in France” sticker is adhered to the back cover on the fabric tape. Throughout the front and back covers are very faint pencil marks that appear to be math equations. Sketches pertain to boats [there are also 2 photograph prints of boat sketches also done by Peter inserted at the back of the book], figures [mostly First Nations people], a crude map of “Rivers Manitoba,” a hill with buildings and the inscription “Gaspe, June-30-58,” and birds.
