- Air meter enclosed in circular shallow brass case covered with glass, and standing on three brass legs (3.5 cm) attached to a solid brass disk stand of the same size. Brass ring attached perpendicular to side of the meter case by two thin metal arms, contains wind vane with eight small square sails attached to centre by small metal arms. Face dial measured around perimeter with numbers from 0-90 has small circular dial at top with numbers from 0-9 and the letters "HDS" just above central pivot of small thin needle. Dial reads "Air meter to 1000 feet/No 508". Bottom of solid brass base has screw hole at centre to hold screw mount which is brass finger screw with black painted brass tube attached to top. Lever on side of meter halts needle. Box, plain square wooden box with brass hinges for lid is fitted with small blocks of wood to hold air meter securely in place. Mounting screw slips over arm of piece of wood fastened to lid. Paper label inside lid reads, "Correction for Air Meter No. 508/. Add 30 per minute to the observed reading of the Air Meter. Note. Each instrument is now regulated so as to reduce the correction to a constant quantity per minute, which must be added as in the example given.". Small brass latch hook closes lid.

- A collection of netting supplies including four shuttles, three netting needles, two awls, eight mesh gauges, and a needle in cork. (a) shuttle (10.7 x .7 x 1.8) wooden, carved from one piece. Sides flat boat shapes joined by solid piece between allowing a lip inside the shuttle to accommodate the thread when wrapped around. On one side carved initials "S.K." Note: surfaces and edges slightly scratched, gouged and nicked. (b) shuttle (8.0 x .9 x 2.2) black ebony, similar to (a) but separate block of wood post between riveted through sides with small brass pins, and points curved toward each other so as to almost touch. Small hole drilled through central post, wrapped with a long length of shiny, twisted silk or mercerized cotton cord. (c) shuttle (6.2 x .6 x 1.5) ivory, shaped as (a) but smaller. Two central posts fastened through each side with steel pins separate sides.(d) shuttle (7.2 x .1 x 1.1) flat, carved ivory with curved notch at end and rounded point at other. Cut out window at top with carved spike to hold thread when wound around spike, then down to notch at bottom and back up around spike. (e) netting needles (13.2 x .1 x .2) two fine, long, stainless steel needles, flattened at each end with a long slit eye which is split at the point, one end has additional small hole drilled through just below eye. (f) netting needle (17.3 x .3 x .8) as (e), but brass and larger, cruder split eyes at ends barely touch at tips. (g) awl (12.7 x .5 x .8) hardwood, smoothly shaped oval stick, tapering about halfway to very sharp, long point. character ? carved into end. Faintly handwritten along one side, "July 28 ? , 1849 ? ". (h) awl (7.1 x 1.0 diam) carved ivory. Knob at top carved with crosshatched notches at end, deeply carved rings and ferrules below, with long teardrop shaped shaft ending in blunt point. (i) mesh stick (11.3 x .3 diam) small ivory rod with blunt points each end. (ii) mesh stick (12.5 x .4 diam) as (i) but barely tapered one end, and large chip broken diagonally from other. (iii) mesh stick (17.0 x .25 diam) as (i) but pointed one end and barely at other. (iiii) mesh stick (11.4 x .3 diam) as (i) pointed one end and flat at other. (j) mesh stick (20.2 x .3 diam) long, flexible, black plastic ? rod, pointed at one end, and flat at other. (jj) mesh stick (16.3 x .5) ebony, as (i) but pointed both ends. (jjj) mesh stick (10.8 x .5) ebony as (jj) but barely rounded one end, and flat at other with small depression drilled in.(k) mesh stick (21.7 x .5) varnished wood, pointed one end, carved barely round at other.
