The rectangular silver is shaped into a circular form, each end has two holes (.03cm from each edge, 1.50cm apart) to put nails through and attach it to a walking stick. The middle of the band has the Skyline Trail Hikers of the Canadian Rockies logo; a shield- shaped crest with the letters “SLTH” on top, a hiking boot crossed by a walking stick or alpenstock, and underneath it a “C”, the bottom of the walking stick passing between, and then the “R”. To the viewer’s right of the crest, inscribed on the bottom are the words “BIRKS STERLING”.
