Description: Colours are predominately black, green, white, grey, purple and blue. New-growth evergreens and charred black remnants of trees dominate the painting. Middle third of the painting through the charred trees is Storm Mountain range with mist and cloud obscuring tops of peaks; there is evidence of snow on the mountain range and through the trees on the lower slopes. In the top-third, a stormy sky prevails; several dark clouds with vestiges of blue sky showing. The foreground of new-growth trees are painted in different shades of green, mostly light green, darker green in the background and on the slopes. Dominating the viewer’s left is a tree burned black reaching from top to bottom, charred black trees in the middle half reaching up to the mist, and charred black trees on the right reaching from the new-growth forest floor to the top of painting. Viewer’s eye is drawn into the mountain valley foreground to the wooded uphill of seemingly unburned slopes.

Description: A farm scene with pink, grey and purple foothills behind, and dust devils in front rising to a turbulent sky. The lower one-third is the grey road lined by green on both sides through the fields; on the viewer’s left are fields in gold, green, grey, purple and brown, and on the viewer’s left of the road, a red shed with a purple roof, then a white farmhouse with a purple roof, and another shed partially obscured by the dust funnel rising up to mingle with clouds in the sky. Further to the left another red building with a purple roof and to the left of that another dust funnel (dust devil) rising up to the storm clouds and sheets of weather in the sky. Three-quarters of the painting is the purple,pink and grey clouds and several storm sheets creating a large foreboding sky. Signed on the bottom left corner with the artist’s logo.

Description: A sturdy wooden chest with heavy iron hardware, lockable, with key, but key is broken, and the chest cannot be (1979) opened. Design of solar medallions, six of them, on lid, plus date "1602" in steel or iron riveted to lid. Other solar medallions scattered on other surfaces. Most of the edges of the wood are finished with strapping iron. Some wood splitting. Heavy brown colour overall. Label on bottom reads "Mrs. Mackay Plews".
