- Description
- Three round brooches of gold filigree, set with precious stones. Hinged pin spikes across back fasten under locking hook clasp. (a) cross of sapphires, eight blue sapphires in shape of cross with high, domed, star sapphire at centre. Between arms of cross are four, large 1.1 x .7 cm moonstones with bluish cast. Fine, filigree of gold wire scrolls between and around all stones. (b) central moonstone, large 1.0 dia. luminous, domed stone with bluish cast, surrounded by eight gold wire filigree petals with small .2 dia. sapphire in open area of each, and small .2 cm , cultured seed pearls around outside in open area between each, circle of gold wire contains pin. (c) central green stone, large 1.3 cm dia. luminous, milky, light green, domed stone of chalcedony ?. Framed by a border of simple gold filigree scrolls forming six open scallops around edge, with small gold wire circle in cleft between each pair of scallops, small lip holds stone.
