Description
An Alberta harvest scene. In the foreground is an area of wheat that has been cut down in concentric circles. A circular area of wheat has been left standing in the centre of the circles. This field of wheat is a vivid orange and a pale yellow. At the centre-right of the image is a black oil derrick. To the left of the derrick and further in the distance are several grain elevators, of which a few are bright red. In the distance are the Rocky Mountains. A soft grey-blue sky makes up the top portion of the print.

Tom Lonsdale was the United Church Minister, for many years, in Banff; he took painting lessons from Pete Whyte circa 1950; Catharine purchased LoT.02.02 through LoT.02.04 at a United Church rummage sale, for $3.00 each, in 1975. Tom Lonsdale spent some years in a Calgary rest home and died 1975.

Tall, silhouetted evergreen trees are positioned in both lower corners of the prints. Smaller trees extend across the print at its bottom. The entire print is quite dark with the exception of the lighted buildings.
