Lid fits over lip on basket formed by incorporating a flat ring of wood into the rim. Checkerboard pattern discernible in weaving at centre of base of basket.

A miniature basket with flat bottom and slightly domed, fitted lid. Woven in bird-cage technique with natural coloured grasses as background and design of bright pink, purple, and green dye. The sides have a design of 5 pink and purple figures in an orange canoe, purple fish, and a large purple and orange bird. The lid has a green, yellow, pink geometric pattern around the edge and at the centre of the dome. Lid fits over lip on basket formed by incorporating a flat ring of wood into the rim. Checkerboard pattern discernible in weaving at centre of base of basket. Found in a brown and blue cardboard box emblazoned with “the Quest” and accompanied by a card that reads “The Quest for handcrafts ltd. BANFF, ALBERTA.” on the outside and has “Nootka Tribe” handwritten inside.
