The shirt has canvas backed bead strips attached along the back of the arms and over the shoulders. The strips are edged with red and blue beads and have a red and blue geometric pattern on a white background. There is fringe (16.0 cm long) attached across the shoulders and under the arm beadstrips. b,c) Leggings (b - 64.5 x 28.0 cm; c - 62.0 x 25.7 cm) with beadstrips (same pattern as shirt) and thong ties. The edges of the leggings are pinked.d) Apron (26.0 x 29.0 cm) with two half-oval parts with blue and red beaded decoration on the front and red beading on the back. Description
A girl’s outfit with matching beadwork of orange with black and white stepped geometric designs (triangles and diamonds).a) Dress of light hide with fringe along the yoke and around both short sleeves (13.5 cm long) and along the bottom hem (6.5 cm long). There are thong ties at both sides of the neck opening. The front of the dress yoke has three beaded diamonds, backed with fabric and sewn to the dress. The front of the dress also has two beaded medallions with dewclaw and bead tassels. The back of the dress also has beaded medallions (no tassels) and two beaded diamonds on the yoke.b) Belt (70.5 x 6.0 cm), fully beaded and backed with fabric (pink and white floral print), with thong ties attached to each end. The belt is orange with black and white triangles and has black and orange edge beading. Section (2.0 cm) of edge beading missing.c) Headband (22.5 x 4.2 cm; 46.3 cm circumference) with same beading pattern and fabric backing as belt. The ends of the band are attached with a piece of white elastic. A beaded, hide backed medallion is strung on the elastic.d,e) Moccasins with high tops and beadstrips attached to the top. The beadstrips, with canvas and blue fabric backing, match the belt and headband. Each moccasin has a single long wrapping lace and two thong laces attached to the beadstrip. There is fringe at both heels. The soles are dirty and worn from use.
