Description

Feathers bound with red wool and tied with white string. Ermine skins hang from temples. Felt hat cut off for cap, feathers attached to it and long piece of moose hide as train, pinked on edges. Fringes at centre between flaps. Feathers have long pieces of blond horsehair attached to ends.

Narrow headband, 1.5 cm wide, small white beads as background with blue and red centered diamonds. The band is long, extending to back of neck. Fringes hang from above eyes both sides. Felt cap. Long skin train painted yellow on edges with a red line and a faint red circle between shoulders. Yellow fabric sewn onto outside edge of train. Fringes on all edges of train. Bald eagle feathers bound with red wool and tied with three rows of white string. Long blond horsehair strands attached to ends of feathers with a round piece of paper (some missing).

Description
This is a replica of a hairbag (could be displayed Re: Corleigh Belton July 2013). Heart-shaped bag with beading on both sides and red and white bead fringe along the bottom edge. The front has a red and blue geometric pattern on a pink background. The opposite side is hide with a blue, pink and red diamond at centre and a blue and red edge. The bag has a necklace, a thong wrapped with white, geen and red beads, attached to the back of the bag. Tag: ”Hair bag” with “tad’y held long hair” and on reverse ”stuffed it into bag and bag tied to head at hair (?) - now tourist items”
