Written by Melissa Allan and illustrated by Cree illustrator Jadyn Fischer-McNab, this story uses a powerful animal, the buffalo, as a symbolic message and connection to Indigenous ways of knowing and being that helps to create a wonderful narrative rich with Indigenous ties and a heartwarming message around facing adversity. - Child’s high top moccasin with beaded geometric pattern on the vamp in blue, red, yellow and green. There is a short fringe at the heel. This moccasin has no laces. The sole is dirty and patched and there is a small hole near the design on the vamp. Burrs are attached all over the moccasin.
