Description: A pencil and ink drawing of two men on a frozen lake. One man has fallen through broken ice and is only visible from the chest-up. The other man, wearing a hat and coat, assists the fallen man by pulling him up with a stick. Quickly-sketched trees line the background. There is a sign with illegible writing on it posted to the right of the fallen man. In the bottom left corner of the drawing, “Peter Whyte -29” is visible. Description: A sketchbook with a black spine and pressed paper cover in black and white. There is a white rectangle label with “SKETCHES BANFF 1928” written in black ink. It contains several colour sketches that have been cut out of a different sketchbook and pasted in to this one. The last two sketches have not been attached. Subjects are figure studies of Mounties, cowboys, climbers, Indigenous Peoples, soldiers, Asian people, and skiers.
