- In tall, square, white box with flat, blue base: Small, square, glass bottle with sharp shoulders and narrow neck with flat, black plastic stopper. Neck of bottle wrapped with gold metallic cord which is attached to stopper. Flat, square stopper has cut off corners and Lanvin symbol (stylized woman and child with billowing gowns) cut into top. Small, square, silver label on front printed in blue with same symbol and "Rumeur /extrait de Lanvin / Paris France" moulded into bottom. Tall, white, lift-off box lid fits over white boxy flange on flat blue base. Flange is constructed with recessed square hole, with an upright blue plastic semi-circle at each side, fitted to hold square bottle securely. Box lined with blue along corner edges, and embossed with Lanvin symbol on top. Label on base of box contains product name, and indicates "15 gr. env. p. flacon".

- Description
- Two Japanese paper wallets which open like a book, each containing small flat package of "Handy Paper" tissues folded into plastic wrapper with line indicating, "open here . open please" across the middle. Each contained in cardboard package. (a) orange red, printed with large flower inside black circle on cross hatched background. One side contains pocket holding tissue package, other side has 12.0 x 5.0 cm mirror, and long narrow pocket holding black plastic pocket comb covered with fake leather. (b) red with green medallion pattern , one side forms flap covering slit pocket for tissue package, with deep, flat pocket behind. Inside pocket is business card written in Japanese. Found folded in purse is cellophane package containing two long, flat representations of kimoned Japanese woman made from folded paper, marbled yellow cardboard cover.

- Japanese notions shop, fully furnished, wooden base 3.7 high forms floor of shop. Display area centre of floor 13.0x13.6x18.7, removable wooden wings, 12.0x3.0x0.5, on each side of the display shelf. Left removable wing has a replaced hook. Brass wire attached to top and sides of display shelf modelled after the bamboo poles on which skeins of cotton threads, jute rope, flax thread are hung. Teenage shopkeeper girl sitting on her feet, her hands on her lap with right hand shaped to hold something. Items for sale: 14 bales of cotton battings from Oume region manufactured, or distributed, by Yamato-ya (House of Yamato), all specially high quality. On the right wing: silver Obi-jime (Obijime a decorative and very tightly woven tough and thick silk tie belt), tightly tied around the waist, over Obi, (decorative sash). 3 pairs of silk tying strings for Haoli, windbreaker. - Japanese insect vendor, fully furnished. Platform, 23.0x9.8x5.0, is black painted wood covered with black grit paper. Checkerboard patterned paper covers frame shop, 21.5x22.0x7.0. Hinged panels on both sides, 15.3x3.3. Front facing panels have wooden lattice work, same paper pattern. Shopkeeper, teenage girl, is sitting in centre of shop. She has a patterned kimono with red in pattern and lining, wearing blue thongs, hair piled high with a red tie dyed scarf, china face. Open mouth show white teeth, china hands. Many and varied insect boxes displayed, very finely crafted, all secured to framework. The black boxes are for displaying fireflies. The shopkeeper is also secured to the display. (b) a bent backed, bowlegged older man, wearing brown pants, black jacket over red vest and white shirt with black tie, a black toque on his head, black shoes, a sour expression on his face. (c) a rotund older woman wearing brown dress with full skirt, black hemmed, a calf-length apron of black with blue and red vertical stripes, a white blouse visible at the bodice, and a necklace of roses. She is white haired, hair tied in a bun, and has a smiling expression, arms crossed. All are cut in deft, sure, simple wood carver's strokes, are caricatured slightly, and are strongly painted.
