- Japanese notions shop, fully furnished, wooden base 3.7 high forms floor of shop. Display area centre of floor 13.0x13.6x18.7, removable wooden wings, 12.0x3.0x0.5, on each side of the display shelf. Left removable wing has a replaced hook. Brass wire attached to top and sides of display shelf modelled after the bamboo poles on which skeins of cotton threads, jute rope, flax thread are hung. Teenage shopkeeper girl sitting on her feet, her hands on her lap with right hand shaped to hold something. Items for sale: 14 bales of cotton battings from Oume region manufactured, or distributed, by Yamato-ya (House of Yamato), all specially high quality. On the right wing: silver Obi-jime (Obijime a decorative and very tightly woven tough and thick silk tie belt), tightly tied around the waist, over Obi, (decorative sash). 3 pairs of silk tying strings for Haoli, windbreaker. On the left wing Haoli tying strings (3) and Obi-jime.

- Japanese insect vendor, fully furnished. Platform, 23.0x9.8x5.0, is black painted wood covered with black grit paper. Checkerboard patterned paper covers frame shop, 21.5x22.0x7.0. Hinged panels on both sides, 15.3x3.3. Front facing panels have wooden lattice work, same paper pattern. Shopkeeper, teenage girl, is sitting in centre of shop. She has a patterned kimono with red in pattern and lining, wearing blue thongs, hair piled high with a red tie dyed scarf, china face. Open mouth show white teeth, china hands. Many and varied insect boxes displayed, very finely crafted, all secured to framework. The black boxes are for displaying fireflies. The shopkeeper is also secured to the display. - A finely painted figurine of an elegantly dressed, standing Japanese woman, made of bisqued clay, she is glued to a black painted square pedestal of wood. She is on gatas, an orange skirt, and a white flowered kimono which is red principally, and hanging down her back a white panel with rose, blue and silver patterns. On her head a bandeau of red, gold rose and green, face also finely done in pale pink white, molded nose, painted eyes, brows, and lips. The object was probably slip cast, bisque fired, and hand painted.

- The case is in five segments which are both held together and can be separated by tension of the purple cord. Cord extends from a hole on either extremity of segments rim edges, through to attach itself to the ivory netsuke. Netsuke is woman supporting small child on her back at left shoulder, woman wearing kimono, obi and getas. Signature on woman's right leg. Cord hole found on woman's left hip. Round filigree brass button slides on cord between netsuke and inro. Lacquer design on inro is landscape with birds on one side. Obverse is harbour scene with lighthouse boats and full moon, all in gold and black lacquer.
