Description
Spiral-bound sketchbook with red and white-patterned cardboard covers and a black fabric elastic band attached to the back cover for the purpose of holding the book closed. A white paper sticker is adhered to the front cover with “Spring Block, Drawing Paper, By T.S.” printed in black on it - “Peter Whyte” is written in pencil in the TLC. Contents include scene sketches from a 1934 trip to Japan by Peter and Catharine. Consists mostly of people sitting at tables presumably playing cards, Catharine reading the newspaper, figure studies, and a horse-drawn 2-wheel carriage.

Description
A detailed anatomy drawing of a male figure from the neck down found inside a folded portfolio. The drawing is focusing structure of the muscles in the body. The model has their left hand raised above his head. Below the work is says “School of Leonardo”. Beside the drawing to the left there is two lines of pencil running down the height of the portfolio, near one of the folds. On the left fold there is a Christmas tag that has two dogs, a woman in a blue dress, with a snowy scene behind them. On the tag it reads “From Gwen with love To Catharine + Pete I’m appallingly late! But we have had a fair amount of illness here + that does delay things!”On the verso of drawing it says “School of Leonardo L3.10x 132.58”, and in the BRC “8.C8”
