Description
A watercolour painting of the back of a house. A white house with brown trim and roofing dominates the painting. The house comes in at the right and extends 3/4 of the way across the painting. The background is a pale blue sky behind the house. There is a brick chimney and a metal vent pipe on the roof of the house. The back door of the house has a blue framed screen door with a mailbox to the right and there is a small deck in front of the door. The right side of the house has a small window and in front of the window is a blue stool with a brown box and brown wash bin on top. The majority of the house is in shadow from the trees. At far left there is a single tall tree. The artist signature is written in pencil in the bottom rhc. Au verso there is brown paper tape about 1 cm thick all along the edges. In the centre about a 1/4 of the way across from the left is writing in pencil, “miss Cormie (the rest illegible)”.
