Topics include day to day life, weather, cleaning and household chorse, a 3-day trip to the Columbia Icefields to paint/sketch in early September, news pertaining to the war, matters pertaining to the store and apartments on Banff Ave, radio programs [including operas, news, and sports], visits from friends, updates on war-time rations [mostly on food items and gasoline/coal], day trips around Banff National Park to sketch/paint [mostly to Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, and Lake Minnewanka], going to the movies, wildlife, books Catharine and Edith are reading, events and people in Concord [including Russel's activities and promotions in the US Army], various holidays [both Canadian and American], making frames, Catharine's involvement with the Red Cross [including first aid training], Pete being hired by Sir Norman Watson to create letterhead and a Christmas card for Mount Temple Chalet, skiing, slide making and presentations, errand trips to Calgary [mostly to see the dentist], and Christmas activites/parties. Also includes postcards.
