- Looking east towards Rundle Mountain. In the right background is Mount Rundle with the sun illuminating it from the right. Shadowed areas are done in medium blue. The upper slopes are light grey (with touches of brick-red and ochre), while the lower slopes are green with an underpainting of blue. A patch of blue water can be seen in the lower right, behind the foreground trees. Some of the foreground trees have yellow foliage and others are pine trees. A large pine tree rises on the left side to cut off the bottom of Rundle's left slope. The sky is blue except for two white and grey clouds above the mountain.
