A paper lantern with a brass lid.a) A brass paper lantern lid that is round and flat with a six pointed star shape cut out of a slightly raised circle in centre which is hinged to open. There are three more partial stars cut out from the border. The lid has a very narrow strap handle with a small ring for hanging. b) The brass base of the lantern with a small triangular spike to hold a candle in the centre. There are remnants of orange paper with blue design around the edge.
