There are feathers in the man’s hair, three on the left and one large feather extending out of frame on the right. He is wearing a beaded necklace that is white, green and red. The background is white, green and brown. The artist signature is written in red in the bottom left corner and also written on the print in blue ink in the bottom rhc, “N de Grandmaison Canada 1972.” There is a small black ink copyright symbol in the bottom rhc. Underneath the image along the bottom edge on the left in black ink, “Lithographed in Canada” and along the right, “Copyrighted by N. deGrandmaison in Canada and United States and published by The Last Arrow Ltd.” At centre under the image in black print is the title, “Blackfoot Brave”. The man is seated against a background that is split vertically off center to the right; the left side, which is larger, is a deep brown/green colour, while the right side, which is smaller, contains a deep purple colour. The man is wearing a dark, presumably black garment, with a small white collar popping through at the neck. His skin is mostly fair, while his nose, lips, and ears are pink in colour. There are a series of small marks in the bottom left corner in varying shades of red, yellow ochre and brown. The bottom edge is unfinished, revealing the marks of the paintbrush over the raw canvas below.
