- Harold Malloch Luxton [1884-1915] was the youngest child of parents Sarah Jane Luxton and William Fisher Luxton. Harold served as a member of the Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment, 31st Battalion) during World War I, and was killed in action on December 18, 1915 at the age of 31. Harold is buried at the Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery in Belgium.

- Gilbert M. Atkin, 1877-1969, came to Banff in 1905 shortly after completion of postgraduate studies in medicine. He first worked with Dr. Brett and continued to practice medicine in Banff, where he raised his family. During the First World War, Atkin served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps.

- Willoughby John Astley, 1859-1948, came to Banff in 1888 and built the Beach House Hotel at Lake Minnewanka. He moved to Lake Louise in 1889. Brother, Charles D'Oyley Astley, 1849-1937, and Lucy Ann Astley continued to operate the hotel until 1907 when they retired to Banff. The hotel was destroyed as part of power development at Lake Minnewanka, ca.1912.

- The Moore family resided at Banff, Alberta and Yoho Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Col. Philip A. Moore, 1879-1951, was a guide, soldier, lecturer and publicist. Pearl Brewster Moore, 1889-1973, was a homemaker and tourist lodge operator. Daughter, Edmee Brewster Moore (Reid), 1908-1971, was a homemaker and wife of Charles Reid. Pearl Brewster, born in Banff, was an active sportswoman. In 1905, she met Philip Moore, who had joined Jim and Bill Brewster in the packing business. The Moores made their home in Banff in 1907. A trained soldier, Philip Moore distinguished himself in France in the First World War and served with the Calgary Highlanders during the Second World War. The Moores ran various Canadian Pacific Railway facilities, including Yoho Valley Bungalow Camp, during the 1920s and early 1930s. Col. Moore lectured widely during this period using motion pictures and lantern slides. During the 1930s, the Moores travelled extensively and were active in the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies. Pearl Moore was instrumental in the Banff-Jasper fund during the Second World War. - Sidney Joseph Unwin, [1880?]-1917, was a guide and outfitter at Banff, Alberta. Born in England, Unwin returned, after serving with the volunteer cavalry in the South African (Boer) War, to his home in London, England for a brief period to work as a surveyor's clerk, and in the fall of 1904 he moved to Banff. Initially, Unwin worked for guides and outfitters Syd Baker and Jimmy Simpson. In the winter of 1905 he began his own trapline. In 1907, Unwin began work for Billy Warren and accompanied Mary Schaffer and Molly Adams on their expeditions to the Maligne Lake, Saskatchewan River areas.
- After two years of working for Warren, Unwin began his own guiding outfit and in 1912, with the aid of his sister Ethel and brother Arthur, the Unwins established Unwin's Curios and Souvenirs. In 1914, Sid Unwin enlisted in the Canadian army and took up with the 22nd Battery (Howitzer), 6th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery 2nd Division. In 1916 he saw his first action in France. He fought in the battle for Vimy Ridge, was injured May 3, 1917 and died on June 29, 1917 at the East Leeds War Hospital.

- William Henderson Watts (1870-1955) was born in Baltimore, MD on February 21, 1870 to William Watts, Jr and Hannah Amanda (Henderson) Watts. He graduated Virginia Theological Seminary in 1900; ordained a deacon October 1900 by Bishop Whittle; ordained a priest June 1901 by Bishop Gibson. He married Mary Gardiner Bach on January 26, 1903.

- Fonds consists of letters written by Mary Schäffer Warren to William Henderson Watts. Letters document Mary Schäffer Warren's disappointment in the U.S.'s lack of support for the Allies in Europe. Letters also deal with Schäffer Warren's sentiments regarding the loss of Canadian men during the war and the loss of her nephew Eric Sharples. Letters cover the period 1916-1920 and were originally part of a scrapbook compiled by William Henderson Watts which was arranged in chronological order between 1912 and 1924 and contained approximately 200 documents.
- Also included is a newspaper clipping of article written by Mary S. Warren "A Letter From the Somme Battle Front", 1916.
