- Four wooden monkeys seated on flat, rectangular base. The first three monkeys represent respectively, Speak No, Hear No, and See No Evil. The last monkey is also seated with hands in crotch. Varnished wood. Each monkey is anchored by a peg in base and is also glued to same.

- A long scroll rolled on a wooden dowel, with light red brown piece of silk stiffened with paper lining which rolls around outside to form cover, tying with long purple braided silk cord attached at end, scroll which is pieced in several places, unrolls to show long, continuous scene of monkeys, hares, frogs and other animals engaged in various human activities. Long paper label on end of scroll with Japanese writing, presumably the title. Scroll is contained in long rectangular cardboard box with red brown lid and same label as on scroll pasted to top of lid, and ink stamped Japanese writing inside base of box. Also contains green paper sheets in English and Japanese explaining the scroll, and a sheet of white paper completely in Japanese.Made in Japan.
