Dark red whip stitch around all edges except one.d) miniature green and red design on perforated card, similar to (a)Three (a,b,c) are made on large open weave cloth. (d) is made on a perforated paper or card material. (b,c) are made on cloth that has blue guidelines built into the weave. All designs are using “cross-stitch” technique, where a tent stitch is made in one direction first, then created in the opposite direction overtop to form an “x” shape.

At the top of the design there are small pink and white roses, which move down towards a five-petaled red flower with a yellow center, green leaves and brown brand. Beneath this, there is one large ivy or maple leaf. The design finishes with a half circle of small pink and red roses, beneath which are a large red rose, a large white rose, and a purple and yellow pansy at the tip.At the top corner of the grid, the number “4741” is written. This is most likely the pattern’s number. At the bottom of the grid, there is an inscription that reads “Berlin bei Carl F. W. Wicht” which translates from German as “Berlin by Carl F. W. Wicht”. There is a large, bold “3” in the bottom left corner of the grid. The pattern is used to create a slipper.
