Description
Fossiliferous silty limestone containing brachiopods and fragmented crinoids. From a shallow water, fairly high energy environment. Appears to have two different species of thick shelled brachiopods. Cross section of whole brachiopod visible on one edge, displaying top and bottom shells, cavity completely filled with calcite. From the Devonian/Mississippian period. Probably from the Banff formation.

Description
Fossilized worm burrows in impure limestone matrix. Structure of worm tubes are well preserved, tubes made up of mineral calcite. Low energy environment resulting in tunnels being parallel to bedding planes. Small pyrite concretion on one side. From the Cambrian period. Recrystallization in the limestone and orientation in the shale parting suggest low grade metamorphism has taken place.
