- Fonds consists of extensive interview with Norman H. Brewster, pioneer of ski mountaineering in the Selkirk and Rocky Mountains. Brewster came to Field, British Columbia in 1929, and thereafter was a Canadian Pacific Railway employee at Field and Glacier, B.C. for many years. Accounts of his ski mountaineering trips and expeditions, most with mountaineer A. A. McCoubrey, appear in the Canadian Alpine Journal. Brewster was a member of the Alpine Club of Canada, 1939-1953. Interviews pertain to expeditions, trips and ski camps in the Rockies and Selkirks, including: the Battle Range, 1946-1947; Swiss Guides Lily Col ski trip; first Alpine Ski Camp at Lake O'Hara; numerous ski trips, including Mount Uto, Mount Terminal, Asulkan Valley, Mount Sir Donald; Yoho ski mountaineering and ski camps; Little Yoho Ski Camp; Yoho Glacier; Freshfield Snowfield.
