One end of the probe has a lighter silver knob with tap near it. The other end has a brass-coloured metal end. The orange leather pouch features text along the middle on one side which reads “Lindenmann Lawinen-Sonde” and text at the top of the pouch which reads “SCOTT” in handwriting.

There is an “R” inside a circle on the outside ankle and in raised letters on the rubber sole “Galibier”, another “R” inside a circle “RAID” “MADE IN FRANCE”.
