A large ship is centered in the print, and behind it there is an even medium blue sky with seagulls circling. The water has white reflections from the ship and is a darker blue then the sky. Anchored in the water are a couple of row boats and sail boats.

A log juts out from the lower left edge of the painting in toward the centre of the image. In the lower right side of the image the rocky area gives way to water. A small village sits on the edge of the water. The buildings are multi-coloured. Behind the village is a pine tree-covered hill and behind it is a dark mountain. Grey misty clouds partially obscure the mountain. The sky is grey and cloudy.
