- Description
- A dark brown varnished wood plaque shaped like a banjo with bottom containing a circular brass frame, with holes around the sides, enclosing a glass covered “Hygrometer” with a scale on one side from 0 to 100 and the words “very dry”, “normal”, “moist”, and “very moist” at points along the scale. The indicator needle is attached to a coil which reacts to moisture in the air and can be adjusted by a screw at the back. The narrow top contains a mercury filled glass tube thermometer attached to a brass plaque with a scale from 30o to 120o F (Fahrenheit). There is a hole and metal bracket on the back for hanging. The back of the wood is stamped “1022”.
