Description
A rectangular faced barometer on a shaped piece of solid wood. There is a silver frame around the glass face and a silver knob at centre securing two indicator arrows. The face is scaled from “26" to “31" in increments of ten with a “5” indicating the halfway point between each number. Appropriate points of the dial indicate “Changeable”, “Fair”, “Very Dry”, “Stormy” and “Rain”. There is an adjustment screw through the wood on the back with a keyhole bracket for hanging. The face of the barometer is marked “Compensated” and “Henry Birks & Sons Limited”.
