(b) small, pink, book like case with cross stitched green flower basket on cover, lined with flower sprigged satiny material. Two white flannel pages edged with pink blanket stitch hold various needles of all sizes. Covers hinged together with three knotted thread hinges, with thread loop securing over head of a straight pin to close. Covers stitched around stiff cardboard.

- A collection of four sewing kits. (a) small, plaid egg, hollow, wooden egg painted plaid tartan with six gold lines longitudinally around and small gold symbol plus the name "Stuart", egg splits at middle to open, with small lip on top, and vertical dowel glued into top to hold small round spool of white and brown thread. Dowel hollow with removable lid and holds straight pins.(b) black leather, arge, flat, U-shaped black leather case with snapping tab at centre of rounded side, opens flat. Lined with blue fabric, and arc shaped strip of leather stitched to one side forming loops to hold various sewing tools, other side has large elasticized pocket, containing various cardboard bobbins of thread. Six brass snaps spaced evenly around curved edge close kit securely. Leather loops hold small scissors, an ivory bobbin with thread, a thimble, a small brown striped silk needle book, a tapestry needle, and a double eyed needle with blunt point. Marks: on underside of snap tab, "London Harness co., Boston, coat of arms." (c) blue leather, smaller, but shaped as (b), lined with blue fabric, with small leather pocket at each and inside holding thread bobbin and needle package, slits and loops on pockets hold small scissors and safety pins. Marks: stamped under snap tab, "made in Germany". (d) green cardboard , matchbook shape which holds a cardboard square wrapped with thread and a needle stuck through, and a cellophane envelope holding two white buttons and a gold safety pin.

- In a large, sturdy black, paper covered, wooden box and lid with brass slits at bottom of base, a collection of eighteen pincushions. 3 round(a) blue silk (10.0 x 5.5) short, puffy cylinder with design of five small hearts stitched around top, and diagonal lines around side, quilted with yellow thread, stuck with straight pins.( b) plaid (10.0 x 3.5) red and green tartan with wide blue and narrower yellow and white cross stripes. Puffy, wedge like sections formed with tight black stitching, dark blue grosgrain bow at top. (c) red satiny brocade (10.0 x 3.8) dark red, with green thread laced across top like wheel spokes. Holding on around sides are eight tiny silk clad figures with white painted faces peering upward, and black braided top knots. Base of red and white striped cotton. Paper taped to bottom indicates: "Welfare Handicrafts made by Renie’s Mill Camp, Hong Kong, R.M.C. Group III. Price $3.50". 15 rectangular, pillow shaped with featherstitching trimming around edge. - A short, cylindrical, natural coloured basket with raffia flowers. Woven of coils of straw, stitched together with spiralling radial stitches. Large red, brown and blue raffia flowers decorate the sides of the basket and top of the lid with raffia stitching, "Eagle Nest, Bermuda" on lid. Lined with white muslin which also covers false bottom. A series of muslin pockets run around entire circumference inside. Basket holds many spools of thread as well as various other sewing sundries (folding scissors, thimbles, pincushion).

- Small wooden Japanese box of curly grained wood with drawers in front and trap door on top. Highly varnished finish over golden brown wood with watery grain similar to bird's eye maple on front of drawers. Large drawer across bottom, slightly shallower drawer in middle, and half drawer above on right side. Bottom drawer has loop pull, others have small button pulls with backing plates in shape of five cherry blossoms petalled flowers. All hardware enamelled reddish brown over the metal. Top hinged at middle and left hand side opens and folds flat over other side with square frame at middle holding red fabric pin cushion, shallow well inside. Interior of drawers and well painted with black lacquer enamel, wood of drawers splitting and shrinking leaving cracks and gaps, especially at joints, fronts of drawers warped and bowed. Marks: carved into base, a symbol which looks like unconnected "K" (SU)?

Two semi circular, curved needles ("mattresses seats"), one long, heavy, straight needle ("chairs sofas"), one short needle with three cornered point ("fur, coats, gloves, leather"), and one long, heavy needle with flattened, bent point ("sacks, bags, hampers"). Missing are needles for "carpets and heavy work", and "tents, deck chairs, canvas". Note: fabric worn through in small spot .4 cm at one of underside corners. Brownish stain, 2.5 x 1.3 cm on one side. (b) smaller, white fabric with soft pink and blue floral design. Constructed as (a), with blue ribbons and small pink flowers predominant in the pattern on the sides, and a pink pot of flowers on the top. Bottom covered with pink material, with a faceted clear glass bead stitched to each corner acting as feet for the pincushion.
