- Items were originally stored separately. Poster of Banff Springs Hotel was stored out of poster tube, secured with white string. Paper label wrapped around said: "OLD PHOTO BSH Bow View" Poster image of sedan lift was originally in poster tube with Canadian Pacific label that read: "LAKE LOUISE SEDAN LIFT POSTERS 1960" Poster of CP Steamship was in poster tube labelled "CPR LAKE BOAT ADVERTISING (FRAMED) PICTURE" , numbered "36" at top, with shipping address label: "Canadian Pacific SUPPLIES 1 Upshover { Req. - W.R. Macaskill (1886 - 1956) was a Canadian photographer from Nova Scotia, famous for his images of schooners and other ships in the coastal Maritimes region of Canada. Macaskill was especially well known for his photographs of the Bluenose schooner.

- History / Biographical
- Sidney Smith was the illustrator of 'The Gumps' comic strip, which ran from 1917 to 1959 in the Chicago Tribune. Smith was killed in a car accident in October 1935, shortly after signing a 3-year contract worth $1 million to continue production of the comic strip. "The Gumps" illustrations were then produced by Gus Edson, who kept up the comic strip for another 24 years.

- File consists of one illustration with attached b&w print cutout, and one wooden board with poster glued on either side. Content pertains to a hand-drawn illustration by cartoonist Sidney Smith of his famous character, Andy Gump (signed by artist and addressed to Nicholas Morant); and two portions of an advertising poster for cruises in Asia (possibly Canadian Pacific Steamlines but unknown, n.d.)

- Some photographs in this file may be subject to copyright ownership by the Canadian Pacific company, and some were likely used for professional purposes at some point. However, these specific copies have been categorized as 'personal' rather than professional as they were kept by Nicholas Morant for personal use. All prints in this file were originally in frames, and were removed for storage and conservation reasons. Frames for items PA - 20, PA - 22 and PA - 23 were each labelled with the number '4827' on the back. The frame from PA - 23 also had an attached label which read as follows: "Hudson's Bay Company ART DEPARTMENT 4827 Winnipeg"
