Hole pierced through narrow flange at top to hold chain. Chain of heavy silver links.

Stone appears to be pegged through the centre with a piece of silver which appears as a dot at the top of the stone. Plain, simple, finger band is fixed to back of stone with a malleable substance which is now hard.
