Description
A small wooden bowl lined with silver, and a silver collar around its foot, lathe turned wood with flaring lip, straight sides, and sharp shoulder leading to circular foot. Very thin silver has been pressed in to line interior and folded over the lip, leaving creases along the inner upright sides of the bowl. Collar which fits around foot is thin silver ring with a single row of gadrooming at bottom supporting a series of tiny silver robed figures standing around its circumference. Turning spiral can be seen on bottom of foot.

Description
A very delicate Japanese teapot and five matching cups of fine white porcelain with orange and gold trim. Very detailed overglaze decoration of Japanese warriors dressed in ornate armour and kneeling beneath a tree. (a) teapot, very small, squat, round pot with thinly thrown spool handle attached near the top of the pot, and short tapering spout at right angles to it and ninety degrees around pot. Flat lid with steam hole sits inside small lip of pot glazed orange with gold floral decoration. Crescent shape on lid glazed similarly with orange flower painted in white part remaining. (b) five teacups, small deep bowls with trimmed feet and slightly flared rims. Inside completely white and undecorated, rim trimmed with orange band at lip and gold dots. Marks: on bottom of cups is a Japanese signature brushed in orange glaze.
