- A botanical still life drawing of 6 or 7 different kinds of flowers in a grey vase. Flowers are deep blue, orange, light yellow, light pink, deep pink and white. Foliage is green. The vase has horizontal markmaking, giving the illusion of texture to the surface. Inscription on the back was written by one of her nieces, either Priscilla, Serena or Emily Potts. It reads, “Painted by my / Aunt Mary Ann Potts / about 1820”

The foliage and flowers make a circular shape on the gridded card. The work is signed in the top right corner “S.M. Potts”. The edges of the work are sealed with some kind of fabric-like tape. The reverse has blue paper.
