- History / Biographical
- Clinton Bruce Hatfield (1926-2009) was born in Calgary, Alberta. After graduating from Western Canada High School in 1945, Bruce attended the University of Alberta, where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 1948, a Master of Science degree in 1951, and a Medical Degree in 1953. Bruce interned at the University of Alberta Hospital before moving to Minneapolis in 1957, where he worked as an Instructor in Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospital (1958-1959). Bruce moved back to Calgary and opened a private medical practice with his brother, Bob Hatfield. While operating his private practice, Bruce also served on several committees at the Calgary Hospital, including the Intern Committee, Library Committee, Medical Education Committee, Pharmacy Committee (of which he was Chair in 1966), and the Department of Medicine Committee. Bruce was hired as an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary in 1970, and was Clinical Professor of Medicine when he retired in 1994. Bruce was active as an educator and volunteer in his community, and supported numerous charitable initiatives through the United Church of Canada. He gave public presentations on the topics of Family Life and Sex Education throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Bruce also served as a Trail Doctor for the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies on numerous trips between 1963 and 1995. Bruce was also a talented photographer; his photographs were featured in multiple publications including Macleans magazine, Canadian Doctor, and Canadian Medical Association Journal. Bruce was the recipient of many awards including Calgary’s Citizen of the Year (1970), the Premier’s Cup (1983), an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Calgary (1995) and most recently was chosen as one of Alberta’s 100 Physicians of the Century (2005). Bruce and his brother, Bob, were co-recipients of the Alberta Achievement Award and the Premier's Cup for Excellence in Medicine and the Community. Bruce was married to his wife, Kathleen, for 55 years and the couple raised four daughters together: Linda, Barbara, Sue and Kate.

Fonds includes ca.441 transparency slides with images primarily taken by Bruce during trail rides, 1963-1994, depicting fellow ride participants, camp life, wildlife, and landscapes; 14 colour negative film strips (49 images) depicting scenes from a trail ride in 1995; collected correspondence pertaining to trail rides and administrative work; medical reports from trail rides; and collected riders' lists and related material.

- History / Biographical
- Dimitri Georgevitch de Leuchtenberg (1898-1972), Duke of Leuchtenberg was a member of the Franco-Russian Beauharnais house. In 1927 the Marquis Nicholas degli Albizzi invited Dimitri and his wife Catherine (1900-1991) to join him for the summer at the cabin he had subleased from A.O. Wheeler at Mount Assiniboine. Albizzi and Dimitri were cousins. The Duke and Duchess de Leuchtenberg lived in Germany following the Russian Civil War and in 1931 began annual winter trips to Quebec to visit Albizzi and his new winter sports station in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts in the Laurentians mountains in Quebec. The Duke worked for Albizzi as a ski school instructor. In 1937 he was chosen to be a member of the Canadian Ski School Committee and in 1938 was a founding member of the Ski Instructor's Alliance. In 1939 the Duke de Leuchtenberg bought the Saint-Sauveur station from Albizzi and moved his family permanently to Quebec, Canada.

- File consists of one photograph album, comprising ca. 432 photographs, 10.5 x 16 cm or smaller. Photographs pertain to a trip through Banff to Mount Assiniboine by the Duke Dimitri and Duchess Catherine Leuchtenberg in 1927. - One photograph album containing 111 b&w photographs. Content pertains to a July-August 1943 trip with Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies which included multiple locations: Banff, Canmore, Spray Lakes, Wonder Pass, Mount Assiniboine, Simpson Summit, Larix Lake, Citadel Pass and Healy Creek. Second half of album pertains to Sky Line Hike Camp trip through Goat Creek and Spray River in August, 1943. Photographs depict group shots of riders on horseback and individuals hiking, swimming, scenic views of mountains, lakes, etc., portraits/individual shots of trip attendees, and views of teepees and campsites. Album also contains 3 newspaper clippings with articles related to trips, Trail Riders ticket for Miss Jeanne Nelson (July 30th - August 3rd, 1943) and 2 small booklets (one pertaining to each of two trips depicted in album). Pamphlet for Trail Riders packing trip is covered in signatures of trip attendees. Photos depict individuals including Carl Rungius, Jeanne Nelson, Wilf Bennett, Jean Stewart, and Peggy Robinson.

- History / Biographical
- Charles William "Bill" Stenton (September 24, 1914 - October 23, 1987) was born and raised in Banff. Bill later married Maria Anne Fernuik (September 10, 1915 - July 21, 2002), who in 1952 began collecting curios in the couple's home. The following year, Bill and Maria opened their first business in Banff, called BJ Novelty; the couple later opened another Banff business, BJ's Fabrics. Bill and Maria are both buried in the Banff Town Cemetery.

- File consists of 24 photographs printed onto postcard paper. Contents pertain to various members of the Woodworth family, as well as friends and Banff community members. Includes individual portraits, group photographs of the Banff Hospital staff, Banff Waterworks staff and friends in Bankhead, a local soccer team and multiple unnamed children [one identified as Bill Stenton]. Some photographs are annotated on the back with dates/names.
